The LEIMSA project “Lightweight Electronics by Injection Moulding in Seamless Architecture” aims to develop disruptive components for car interiors, integrating IMD (In-Mold Decoration), IML (In-Mold Labelling) and IME (In-Mold Electronics) technologies to achieve intelligent and tactile 3D surfaces, with attractive designs and immersive HMI (Human-Machine Interface) for a complete user-centric experience.
With an overall investment of € 4,898,005.06, this project is co-financed by the Portugal 2020 Programme, under the Operational Programme for Competitiveness and Internationalisation (COMPETE 2020) with the amount of € 3,036,914.62, from the European Regional Development Fund.
The LEIMSA project lasted about 35 months, from August 2020 to June 2023, with Simoldes Plásticos as promoter and Celoplás, Bosch, CEiiA, University of Minho and DTx CoLAB as co-promoters.
